A website template for therapists & counselors
A website your practice deserves — calm, credible, and ready this weekend.
Most therapy templates are pretty, empty shells. This one arrives with the words already written to a proven method and a gentle client intake built in — so it feels like a front door, not a brochure.
No code · hosts anywhere · WCAG-AA accessible · written for real practices
Why this one is different
You know your clients. You shouldn’t have to become a copywriter and a web developer too.
Design for Counselors does the two hardest parts for you — the words and the way people take the first step — so the site actually brings the right people to your door.
How it works
Three unhurried steps to a site you’re proud of
Start with a real site, not a blank page
You open a complete, calm, professional practice site — every page already written and laid out. No staring at an empty screen wondering what to say.
Make it yours
Swap your name, photo and colors, and fill in the friendly, guided copy prompts. Plain-English instructions, no code, no jargon.
Publish anywhere
It’s a fast, static site — put it on almost any host, free ones included. No servers to babysit, nothing to break at 11pm.
What's inside
The parts that actually change whether someone reaches out
A gentle “find your fit” intake
The one thing no $19 theme has: a warm, three-question guided flow that helps a nervous visitor say what they need — then invites them to a low-pressure call. It’s the difference between a brochure and a front door.
The words are already written — to a method
Every page ships with guided, fill-in-the-blank copy built on a proven therapy-conversion structure, with little coaching notes (“← name the worry that stops them calling”). You sound like you, only clearer.
Genuinely accessible
Semantic markup, real keyboard support, focus states, reduced-motion, AA color contrast. For a mental-health audience that isn’t a nice-to-have — and most templates can’t back the claim. This one can.
Fast and calm by default
Light, image-optimized, no bloat. It loads instantly and feels unhurried — which, for someone deciding whether to reach out, reads as trustworthy.

Questions
The things practice owners ask us
Do I need to know how to code?
No. You edit text and swap images and colors — that’s it. Everything ships with plain-English instructions written for a busy practice owner, not a developer.
Where can I host it?
Almost anywhere. It’s a static site, so free and low-cost hosts (Netlify, Cloudflare Pages, Vercel, most shared hosting) all work. There’s no server or database to maintain.
Is it HIPAA compliant?
It’s a marketing website, not a records system, so the question doesn’t really apply — it never asks visitors for health details, and we’re careful to say so. If you collect enquiries, you choose your own form service and hosting. We won’t imply coverage we can’t guarantee.
Can it handle my specialties?
Yes. There’s a specialty-page template you can duplicate for anxiety, couples, teens, trauma — each one already structured to introduce the problem, normalize it, and gently invite the next step.
What if I want you to just build it for me?
That’s an option too. This template is the do-it-yourself route; if you’d rather hand it off, ThatNerdKnows builds sites like these for practices. There’s a link in the footer.
