I’ve been a digital marketer for seven years now, but I previously worked as a customer service agent. I felt my true vocation was assisting other people in building their own businesses, which is why I changed jobs. I’m a big fan of self-help books and wanted to come up with a way to utilize what I enjoy and apply.
I’ve noticed that, as social media has grown more popular in our culture, it is often the first location where individuals go when seeking mental health help. Even after they arrive, all of the material is focused on “fixing” you rather than assisting you with your issue or providing coping methods. This struck me as odd because there are so many excellent therapists that have received counseling training but do not operate their own private practice; they work in hospitals, clinics, or other institutions. I wanted to connect these counselors with the people who were looking for them online, so I built designforcounselors.com.
